About Us
SCAM is a Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) chartered radio controlled model aircraft flying club in Carroll County Maryland. Flying is conducted from our field behind/below the Hitchman Building on the grounds of the Springfield Hospital Center in Sykesville, MD. Follow the signs from Main and 4th Streets.

Club members are involved in every facet of aeromodeling with gasoline & electric powered fixed wing aircraft being primarily flown. Additionally members have interests in Giant Scale, Helicopters, Jets, and Drone aircraft.

We offer introductory flight training (by appointment) using SCAM club owned model aircraft as well as flight proficiency training (by appointment) using your own model aircraft. Beginners as well as seasoned pilots are welcome.
